My week of work experience with Mad Jessie

hello everyone my name's Lilly and i am a TY student from the Mercy who spent a week working with MJ . 
In this time it was fun as I learned many things about having your own business and things I just did not know about business .

what I thought I would be doing before I talk about what I did:

what I thought I would be doing is not far of from what I actually did. I thought  I would be making boxes and and packing things in boxes and stuff like that, and I thought that would be all I would be doing really.

Monday

The First day we went through all her stock and organised her office which i found fun as I got to organise the spray paints and see all the things she has made 

 

 

Tuesday

The second day I was making cup cozys and learned how to use an over locker which was really fun, making a good couple of them. I got her printer set up then made some boxes and spent the rest of the day cutting the packaging for the plantable pencils.

 

Wednesday

On the third day I went with her to find buttons for a new piece she wanted to make then we went to a lovely lady called Caroline who does sewing where they talked and planned the idea for the bhrat bride and what would and would not work . After all that we headed back to the office where we washed all the hats and i got to see the before and after a wash, and learnt that the first wash is the most important as it shaped the hat, and learnt how it has to be dried flat and folded the way it would be worn for the rest of its time, which was fairly interesting to me 

 

Thursday

the fourth day I started with finishing off all the cup cozys I started on day two, and put the hats in the dryer for a bit to shrink them ever so slightly. then we organised the hats by design and what colour tag would go on what one, and I sewed all the tags on them. while I was doing that MJ was reading out a blog she had made talking about the why we still use wool, where I learnt that it has a long lasting life, it smells well , is stain resistant and is water resistant which is really interesting to know. I then helped her to make a reel and then i finished sewing the tags on the hats and packaged more pencils 

 

 

 

Friday

The fifth day was really fun because I spent the morning making crafts to see if the way she wrote them made sense, and if there were parts I didn't understand I had to take pictures, so when others do it they will understand what they have to do . after all that we did a photo shoot for her website with was very fun 

over all I had an amazing time with MJ and would so go back to work with her if i could
